Job Overview:

We’re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Junior SEO Specialist to support our growing digital marketing team. This full-time, remote role is perfect for someone with 1–2 years of hands-on SEO experience who’s comfortable with both technical and content optimization. You’ll help drive organic traffic, improve rankings, and support SEO initiatives across HOSTAFRICA’s web properties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct keyword research to identify opportunities for content and on- page optimization
  • Optimize web pages for search engines (meta tags, internal linking, headings, etc.)
  • Perform regular technical SEO audits and assist in resolving issues
  • Track, analyze, and report on SEO performance using tools like Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, or SEMrush
  • Collaborate with content, design, and dev teams to implement SEO best practices
  • Monitor backlink profiles and assist with link-building outreach
  • Stay current with the latest SEO and search engine algorithm trends

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of hands-on SEO experience (in-house, agency, or freelance)
  • Familiarity with Google Search Console, Google Analytics (GA4), and SEO tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush
  • Understanding of technical SEO concepts (site speed, crawlability, indexing, etc.)
  • Experience working with CMS platforms like WordPress
  • Strong analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment

Nice to Have

  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Experience in web hosting, SaaS, or tech-related industries
  • Familiarity with tools like Screaming Frog, Surfer SEO, or similar
